Fight till there's fruit.

Text: Acts 7 | Let's look at Abraham's Legacy

Reflection:

How well do you fight while not seeing the fruit of what you're fighting for ?

The name Abraham means the father of many nations. Right there and then we realize the significance in God renaming Abram to Abraham. It was simply because of his purpose.

Abraham was called to leave his country to embark on a journey to an undesignated land where he would become the founder of a new nation.

Abraham did not see the promised land. Imagine devoting your entire life journeying to a undesignated land that God had promised to you. The promise of a nation and legacy fueled him. He was confident in the promise God gave him and his acts of faith showed this. Put yourself in Abraham's position, you have been journeying faithfully all your life and you realize that you're about to die and you are yet to see the promises of God for your life be fulfilled.

Many of us would have become flustered and probably walked away from the call of God to the promised land because all those years you have been journeying you are yet to see the fruit of your faithfulness.

The question to you today is how well do you fight while not seeing the fruit of what you're fighting for?

ree

Abraham died without seeing the promised land. He trusted God with his life and did not see the promise, and upon dying, he still trusted the Lord with his soul. That is the kind of faithfulness that created the covenant between God and Abraham's offspring.

Can you still fight even when you don't see the fruit of your labor? Where is your faith in God?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, humbly I come today asking for forgiveness for every time I murmured on the journey to the promise you have for me. I pray for the strength to be as faithful as Abraham so that even when the promise requires me to die in order for it to be manifested, I pray that I will be content in knowing that your spirit is with me. I glory in you rather than in the presence of your gifts. Equip me for the journey Lord. I love you Jesus. Amen
