In God's Presence We Find Peace

"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation” John 16:33

People's sources of peace can vary. Some look to money, job security, relationships, or even their own strength for peace. In this world, peace has now turned into a valuable and scarce commodity and people are always trying to find ways to get more of it. We invest in insurance, home security systems and a whole lot of other products and services to get peace. Having these things isn’t actually bad, but it just comes to show just how much we all value peace. The truth is though; none of these things actually gives us true eternal peace.

Do you want to know where you can actually find true eternal peace? In the presence of God. In God’s presence, we can find true eternal peace, yet so many of us fail to spend time there. God's Word promises us that of all things; nothing can give more peace than Jesus Christ—the one who gave His life up for us so that we would receive His peace.

God says, “In the world you will have trouble,” why then do we run to it to find peace? God’s presence is what we actually need. In His presence is where we need to run. The presence of God is a place we can go to dial down, breathe, and be still. We can go there to find the answers to questions we have. We can go there to still our anxieties, and find wisdom and understanding.

What many of us fail to realise, too, is that almost everything in this world is not a foolproof source of peace. Money will come and go, insurance policies may flop or fold, stocks will always be erratic, relationships will fail, and even our own strength will fade. However, God will never fail as a readily available giver of peace.

Pursue God's presence daily so you can find peace & rest there. Jesus Christ made the way for you, so make it a part of your daily routine. In truth, things will not get more peaceful in this world. Things will only become more chaotic, and you can count on that! The only place we can find true peace is in the presence of God. If we allow ourselves to get lost in the cares of this world and in the current events of our time, we will find ourselves further and further away from God. Brethren, we must be alert and wide-awake in the spirit! The only way to do that is by making sure we are spending time in the presence of God.

Pursue like never before God’s presence, for there you will find true eternal peace!
