The Great I Am

There is a man who loves me for me,

A man who loves me for my "knocked knees",

A man who loves me and will never forsake me.

There's this man who loves me unconditionally, the one who died for me,

The one whose love I don't deserve but still,

He died on the cross for me at Calvary. My King!

He who took 1, 2, 3, 4, 5....I grimace each time I think of the number of lashes,

This man got his side pierced and not to mention his nailed scarred hands

And the crown of thorns placed upon his head.

There's a man who said you're made in my image and likeness.

This man has a name that is more powerful than any other name

He is the King of all Kings and the Lord of all lords,

The author and finisher of my, your, our faith,

At the mention of his name every knee WILL bow and very tongue WILL confess That he is Lord

The Man who made the blind see, the lame walk, the deaf hear

Is the same man who made Lazarus live again,

He's the same man who turned water to wine,

The man who has never ditched you, never broken your heart,

This man came that through him the world might be saved,

This man says I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you

And not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

He even said that He knew me before I was formed in my mother's womb

The man who's timing is perfect, NO! not at your timing, his timing

And his timing is just right for you even when it doesn't look or feel right.

Now, why do we choose people, like partners, and things like our phones and jobs, over him?

Why do we elevate that which allows us to lust, fornicate, malice, envy, hold resentment and gossip and sin, above time with him in his word and worship? When Jesus was going to be crucified, he didn't say "Father let this cup pass because I want to have some fun first"

Or, "I haven't lived my best life as yet"

His sole mission and only objective was to die for us,

And he pursued that gory cross with a singular focus

Please understand that this man is a very jealous man

This man gives more comfort than your electric blanket,

He says whoever drinks the water he gives them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life,

He says that I am the true vine.

And because I choose not to forget his many benefits and hold fast to his many promises

I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor Angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,

Shall be able to separate you, me, us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord!

He says “I am the bread of life, he that comes to me shall never hunger,

And he that believes in me shall never thirst,

Behold I stand at the door and knock if any man hears my voice,

And opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me."

Understand that there's no way that the power of his birth can be outdone

Yahweh, Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Shalom, Emmanuel, Everlasting Father,

Counselor, Prince of Peace...are but a few of His wonderful names

This man I speak of is the Great Elohim, none other than the most honorable,

(Not brogad) Jesus Christ!

But the real question is do you know Him?

When Jesus was going to be crucified, you were on his mind
