You are safe on the rock.
Text: Matthew 7: 24-27 | Psalms 91: 4-14
Reflection:
In Matthew 7, we see the parable of the wise man who built his house on a firm foundation versus the foolish man who built his dwelling place on sand. We are careful to acknowledge the lesson that we should be wise and build our houses on solid ground. I'd like to further explore this parable by asking that wise man who is flustered by the storms that are still raging, even though he made the right decision, Why would you build your house on a firm foundation if there wasn't expectation of storms?

Be careful to not get lost in the presence of the storm that you forfeit the peace that is inherited from dwelling on the solid rock. You are still safe! The storm had to come to prove to the foolish man that it is important to choose the foundation you build on wisely. The purpose of the storm is to manifest the Glory of God!
BE NOT DISMAYED BY THE STORM!
The same wisdom that led you to the rock will sustain you through the storm knowing that you dwell in a safe place.
Just as much as we trusted the rock enough to build house on it let us stand confidently knowing that we are safe. We didn't choose the rock for nothing! We must trust the firm foundation in the storm! We are safe!
Prayer
Jehovah Shammah I call on you! I thank you for giving me the privilege of understanding the importance of building on the solid rock. Help me Lord to be at peace when the storms arise. I ask for the grace to be able to trust you and to understand the glory that is to be manifested by the presence of the storm. Amen
