Will you make room for him in the fire?

Text: Daniel 3 | Let's look at the three Hebrew boys

Reflection:

I have heard the story of the Hebrew boys but it was recently that God saw it fit to download a whole revelation in my heart concerning them. Usually in the story we see how God delivered the three Hebrew boys by being with them in the fiery furnace and preserving them through it all. The people outside of the furnace were burnt but the Hebrew boys came out without a wound. There is no mention of them coughing or even smelling like smoke. They didn't look like what they came out of.

I had to take a minute to consider whether the outcome of this story would have been different if the Hebrews didn't believe in Jesus Christ the way they did. They were up against great adversity but their faith was greater. That level of faith made room for God to stand in the fire with them. His presence caused the fire that should have consumed them to prove his glory to a whole nation. So instead of the the great fire consuming faithful, it consumed the doubts of the unfaithful!

My question to you is this, Will you make room for him in the fire you're standing in?

Whatever it is that your "fire" might be, I challenge you to trust him enough to show up and use the fire to purify you and change the lives of every single person who gladly spectated in what they thought would have been your last lap in the race of life. I want to encourage every person reading this who is withstanding flames sent by the enemy to consume you, the devil can't kill what God wants alive!

I pray that you will find it in yourself to use your faith as the signal to God that there is room for him in the fire you're standing in.

I pray that the heat from fiery trials will consume the very circumstances set up in your life by the enemy to consume you.

I pray that you will count it all joy when the fire is being turned up, for you know in whose name you stand and how powerful His name is.

Prayer

Father I pray that you will help me to increase my faith so that when the fire comes you will know that there is room for you. Because I believe in who you are Lord, I have an expectancy that you will show up and stand with me when I stand in trouble. I pray that you will consistently use my circumstances to show forth your glory in the earth. In Jesus' name.
